Furniture shipping and furniture delivery.
When you buy furniture you have to allow plenty of time for furniture shipping and furniture delivery. To save your time and frustration you have to know what to expect from shipping and delivery.
If you are buying from local furniture store you can pick up on your own or request delivery.
Check your merchandise carefully before pick up. If you bring it home and find some damage you will be responsible for it.
If furniture store makes delivery for you and damage acquire on delivery, store will be responsible for replacement of damaged item or damaged part.
Find out what furniture shipping time is, before placing your order.
For stock items delivery can be scheduled for same day or next available day, but special order items can take up to 4 months to be delivered.
Furniture store usually is not responsible for delays in shipment beyond their reasonable control (read term and conditions of sale before you sign it).
Two types of delivery are available from local stores:
* Standard Delivery that does not include set up of your merchandise, you will assemble your bedroom or dining, etc..
* Delivery with set up. The delivery will be made with two men and they will carry the furniture to the room(s) requested and set up the furniture (assemble). After you inspect your furniture they should remove all packing materials from your house.
If you are buying from online furniture store, shipping methods are little bit different.
Furniture shipping time is estimated, but you can request delivery to be made on specific dates if you allow enough time ahead.
Standard Shipping or "curb side delivery".
Many small items are available for delivery via FedEX or UPS.
If your order has large or heavy items it will be shipped via truck freight companies.
By definition, curbside delivery means that you are required to meet the delivery truck in front of your home, and you are responsible for receiving the product from the truck.
Additional Services:
For an additional charge you can arrange for the driver to assist you in bringing your furniture into your home.
White Glove Service is including light setup, placing your new furniture in the room of your choice and removing the debris.
Taking furniture to other than ground floor, etc.
If you find any damage on furniture make a note on delivery invoice and call to the furniture store(or e-mail to online store) to arrange replacement of damaged item.
Usually you have up to 3 days to report if you find any concealed damage on your merchandise.
Remember, check package for any damages. If package is damaged it is possible that the merchandise is also damaged.
Never assemble damaged item. If item was assembled it cannot be returned or replaced.
